Year after year the Philippine Festival organized by Tampa's Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is bound to surprise longtime and new visitors to the regions largest 3-day outdoor event.
Philfest is held at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center PhilFest grounds at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626. This is a 10-acre
property owned by the PCFI. It is an open space with outdoor auditorium where most of the entertainment takes place. Additional exhibits and shows takes place at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center's Grand Sampaguita Hall
-- a two million dollar structure -- a work of art that
former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said became "a new U.S. Landmark"
Dubbed PhilFest 2007, this year's event promises to be an attraction to festival goers from Florida, many other states,
foreign visitors. Philfest over the years had been visited by Philippine government officials including Sen. Frank Drillon, Sen. Butch Pichay, Sen. Robert Jaworski, Sen. Osmena.
This year it opens from April 13 until April 15 2007. It is the largest celebration of Filipino culture in the United States that reflects the diversity of the Tampa Bay region.
The festival also helps bring in tourists from all over the United States, including Canada and even the Philippines. This is a proven fact by the number of hotel rooms booked during PhilFest that positively impact the hotel industry in the area. PhilFest
generates some 15,000 to 20,000 guests each year. PCFI is a 501©(3) not
for profit Florida Corporation. Proceeds from this event benefit the
cultural and artistic programs of the Philippine Cultural Foundation,
Inc.
